Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Turkey-Iraq Business Council Chairman Halit Acar said that they aim to export 16 billion dollars to Iraq in 2023 and to raise this country to the second place in the ranking of the countries with the highest exports. Acar stated that Turkey-Iraq relations are progressing very well and exports to this country are increasing day by day. Informing that 12 billion 604 million dollars were exported to Iraq in the 11 months of this year, Acar noted that while Iraq was the fifth in the list of the countries with the highest exports in 2021, it rose to the third place this year. Stating that the most exports to Iraq were made from Istanbul with 2.6 billion dollars, Gaziantep with 1.8 billion dollars and Mardin with 833 million dollars, Acar said: “We aim to export over 14 billion dollars by the end of 2022. Last year “We exported 11.2 billion dollars. Looking at it as of the year, we see a 25 percent increase. We aim to export over 16 billion dollars in 2023.
