There’s plenty to take in from this week’s episode of “Billions”: Axe, Gail, Prince, and Donnie make the best of the situation. But Freddie’s betrayal leaves Axe out in the cold. In addition, Donnie gives Bryan a big gift, and Prince has a public relations crisis.
Axe decides to make a deal to save Axe
With the threat of Chuck Rhoades taking over Axe Capital and the Feds entering the business, the team begins to look for a way to save Axe. One of their first targets is Maria Gonzalez, who was arrested for spiking Ice Juice.
Axe’s lawyers agree to surrender in a specified amount of time. They also tell Axe to stop pushing too hard on the employees. But Axe is enraged when he finds out Wendy has been in contact with her father.
When Axe returns to his family, he’s faced with the repercussions of his actions and admits his frustration. But his feelings for Wendy are also a factor. He’s unable to reconcile his relationship with her with the fact that she hasn’t been interested in spending time with him.
The team isn’t able to convince Axe to join them in exile. However, they are able to convince Axe that they need to go back to Switzerland to try to repair the security breach in Axe’s office. They also decide to participate in a Vanity Fair photo shoot.
Prince’s PR crisis
Prince has been trying to get the 2028 Olympic Games hosted in New York. He’s been involved with the plan for awhile, but has now faced some new issues. One of them is with his daughter Gail.
In this Billions episode, “Rock of Eye”, Chuck finds a way to derail Mike Prince’s Olympic plans. But he’s got to build his own financial coffers to get out of Michael Prince Capital.
The episode opens with a typical flash-forward of Chuck sitting across from Prince. Then Dave (Sakina Jaffrey) arrives and mediates a meeting. This is where a surprise twist awaits.
In the end, Chuck’s in the clear. However, he’s still feeling the effects of losing Kate to Prince. This led to a reevaluation of his standing with the family.
Another good news is the addition of a new hire. Scooter’s nephew Philip Charyn is now working for Prince. He’s not too pleased with this move. But he thinks his nephew has the potential to do something much bigger.
Then, in a surprising turn, Chuck is given an unexpected challenge. In fact, this is the biggest of the season. It will play out in a spectacular way.
Gail apologizes to her father
On ‘Billions’ season six episode 5 Gail, Prince’s daughter, does her best to prove her father wrong. She does so with the multi-pronged device that’s likely to prove to be one of the most important and consequential decisions he’s ever made.
While she does it in the right manner, she fails to deliver in the more mundane realm. This leaves her in a world of hurt. For one, her dad’s PR campaign has hit a rough patch. Secondly, her mother Andy has left the state to take a job with the NFL’s Chicago Bears.
The good news is that Andy has organized a family get together. She also has a new man in her life in Chuck. As far as this goes, it’s the most expensive outing the two of them have had in some time. And she’s got a few other things in her agenda as well.
The good thing is, it’s not as bad as it could have been. The bad thing is, Chuck has to deal with a company that seems to be a bit out of control.
Chuck loses the gubernatorial round
When Chuck Axelrod makes his first appearance in Billion$ Season 6, he’s not exactly giddy with excitement. After all, he’s been blackmailed by one of the most powerful backroom dealers in the nation: Black Jack Foley. His father, a lawyer, also tries to influence his son’s decision in a corruption case.
At the same time, Wendy remains loyal to Axe. As a result, her divorce becomes complicated as Chuck begins poking around in the Mase Carb financials. At the same time, she’s frustrated by Axe’s unwillingness to give up his trading license.
Axe decides to strike a deal to save Axe Capital. He needs to borrow shares to maintain his short position. His offer isn’t well received by everyone in his business. However, it does offer him some hope.
He finds a surprising ally in the form of Adam DeGiulio, who is a friend of his father’s. After telling him about Axelrod’s purchase of Norton Place, he brings the news to Chuck.
Then, there’s the surprisingly good play he makes regarding smart chip technology. He’s also the only one of his trading partners with a “park anywhere” permit. He uses it to make a deal with an unnamed person.
Donnie gives Bryan a big gift
If you’re looking for the perfect gift for the man who has everything, Donnie has the answer. He’s got a big one. And it’s one you can’t keep.
The big one isn’t the most expensive. But it’s the one that gives you the most bang for your buck. And, it’s the one that shows off the best of Donnie.
The biggest question is: what will Donnie do with his billion? Donnie will not do it alone. He’s also got a team of merry men that include the likes of Bobby and Taylor Mason. They’ve got a secret weapon in the form of Michael Prince. His trick is to give Axe a ticket to Switzerland. It’s a risky move, but Axe catches wind of the opportunity too late.
Axe isn’t the only person who wants to put an end to this. He’s got a young boy on the loose who runs a similar scheme in a dorm room in a prep school. He’s even got an old timer on his side. But it’s not the biggest secret.
Axe leaves the office after Freddie’s betrayal
After Freddie’s betrayal, Axe leaves the office. Axe is shocked that Freddie didn’t come to him when he needed help. He also finds out that Wendy has been in contact with her father. He is still very angry about Freddie’s betrayal. Axe feels threatened. He decides to make a deal to save Axe Capital.
Axe has been watching Wendy’s computer. He knows her kinky sex habits. He decides to wire her $5 million to compensate for her betrayal. Afterwards, Axe goes to his childhood home. He visits his mother. He also talks with his high school buddies. Axe realizes that his friend is being shady. He tries to make amends with his friends.
Axe makes a deal with Ken Malverne, the head of Vista Verde. He will take a significant portion of the company. He will gain confidence, and will be able to make a risky investment. During this time, Axe will also receive a call about a Metallica concert in Quebec.
Axe’s materials are very disturbing. He has photos of his naked pool dip, and he has been monitoring Wendy’s computer. He also has information on the top ten hedge fund shareholders. He is willing to give these materials to his people.
Axe’s meeting with the curator of the Ellis Eads Hall
When Axe Capital purchases a mansion, it’s not without publicity backlash. As a result, the company is forced to pay a $1.9 billion fine. It’s also got to put Axe under the microscope.
Meanwhile, Axe has been invited to participate in a photo shoot for Vanity Fair. Axe thinks it’s a good chance to boost his name.
But Axe isn’t going to sit around and take a backseat for long. When Dimonda’s story drops, Axe gets enraged.
After a series of events, Axe has an encounter with the Eads family. He offers a $25 million donation to the family. He hopes that Sean Ayles, a member of the family, will convince the Eads to accept the money.
Axe also confronts Wendy about her guilt over the money. Wendy has been in contact with her father. But when Axe learns that Wendy’s father is also a member of the Eads family, Axe becomes enraged.
When Axe’s team receives a video of the punch, they watch the motivations behind the attack. As a result, Axe decides to buy the symphony hall. He offers a condition to the owner: he’ll pay for renovations.
Prince’s Olympic plans will end in a disaster
There is a big risk involved with Prince’s Olympic plans. He must decide how far he will go to secure the bid. He will also have to consider whether he will keep any team members. He needs to get the support of the governor, but this will be a tough slog.
The biggest challenge is finding the legal counsel to help him navigate the regulatory minefield. Then there is the question of who will be on the trading floor. In addition, he will need help from his wife Wendy.
The other challenge is figuring out what the “Billions” is all about. Billions is about the pursuit of wealth. This show follows a group of billionaires and their attempts to make money. The show keeps you up to date with trends in private equity and global investing.
The “Billions” is also about a constant game of survival. Chuck uses New York politics to his advantage. He will be involved in a worthwhile case. He will also have to learn a few things about his new role in the Prince empire.
