TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu: Togg is a challenge

The opening ceremony was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Gemlik Campus, where the serial production of Togg, which is among Turkey’s vision projects, will be carried out.
In his speech at the ceremony, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they met on a very special day and that Turkey’s 100-year-old dream was given to them. Stating that they still have a long way to go and they have work to do, Hisarcıklıoğlu continued: “As Turkey rises to a new league, our Republic is opening its wings to a new century. The Republic of Turkey is the most beautiful partnership and the most cherished work of millions who have united in this land. October 29, when our Republic was declared, is a very special and proud day for all of us. We are a nation that has reached today by scraping its independence with its nails. We, ‘the nation’s independence will save the nation’s determination and decision again.’ We are the children of those who set out with their word, and those who managed to establish a new state from their ashes. As the Turkish business world, we have continued and will continue to grow our homeland, nation and Republic by producing and selling what we produce to the whole world. We have always embraced and will continue to embrace Atatürk’s journey to surpass the goal of contemporary civilization. With these feelings and thoughts, we commemorate all our martyrs and veterans, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, and his comrades-in-arms, with mercy, gratitude and gratitude. May their souls rest in peace.” Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that they made a promise to the Turkish nation by responding to President Erdoğan’s call at the TOBB General Assembly in 2017. That day before Erdoğan, he said to the entire nation, “Let our state stand by us, we as the Turkish business world will achieve this.” Stating that they promised, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We set out with the support of our President. Then, we embarked on a challenging journey with our valuable partners, Anadolu Group, BMC, Turkcell and Zorlu Holding, as well as aka our brave men. We continued our investments without slowing down at a time when the stones in the global economy were moving and the whole world was dealing with the pandemic. Thank God, we are proud of being able to keep our promise to our nation today,” he said.

“We will be a preferred global brand”

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he is proud of the Togg team of more than 1300 people, his partners, the State of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish people for their unwavering support. Stating that the “Revolution” car could not be claimed and an important opportunity was missed, Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “This time, we do not miss this technology opportunity that comes once in 100 years. We are entering a head-to-head race with our global competitors at the right time. We produce more than a car. With Togg smart devices. We say we exist in the mobility world of tomorrow. We know that there are still those who do not believe in us, but we do not give up. They made fun of us when we made a promise to our President in May 2017, they laughed when we founded our company in June 2018, they said ‘this is a toy’ when we launched our first vehicle in December 2019. Two years ago When we laid the foundation here in July 2020, they said, ‘This factory will never end’, but we never gave up, we did not lose hope, we did what we know best. We continued to invest and work nonstop. Here we are today. We start mass production together. We will be using our Togg vehicles on the roads. Now, those who said ‘you can’t produce’ yesterday say ‘you can’t sell to the world’ today. Let’s make another promise here before you, first to Europe and then to the whole world, we will sell Turkey’s automobile. From the end of 2024, you will start to hear our export news, starting from European countries. We will be a preferred global brand with our technology, mobility solutions and competitive prices.” Pointing out that Togg, its brand, patent and design belong to them, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they will not buy licenses, they will sell licenses.

Stating that they will make the automotive supply industries global players of the next generation mobility ecosystem, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that they will reduce foreign dependency with the technologies they have developed and will develop at the technology center at TOBB ETÜ in Ankara.
Stating that Turkey will become a country that exports, not imports, critical technologies, Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “We do not take permission from Paris, Detroit or Turin when we take our decisions. We take our decisions from here, in Gemlik. Breaking the rules It is not easy, but as Turkish entrepreneurs, we are here to break the game, and we are breaking the rules and we will continue to break them. That’s why Turkey’s Car is not just about making domestic and national cars. Togg is more than an automobile, Togg is a challenge. Togg is a technological transformation.
