According to the statement made by Peugeot, Peugeot, one of the world’s most established automobile brands, is breaking the mold with its SUV-coded dynamic silhouette and flawless Fastback design with its new 408 model. The new Peugeot 408, which was introduced to the world at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022, will gradually begin to hit the roads in the European market in the first months of 2023. The new Peugeot 408 will be on the road in Turkey in the same period. Peugeot continued its success with the SUV 2008, SUV 3008 and SUV 5008 models in recent years, and succeeded in becoming the reference point of its class with each model by continuing with the new 308. With the new 408, Peugeot increases its product range in the highly competitive C segment, while continuing the brand’s success in this class. The new Peugeot 408 meets the needs people expect from a car. The new Peugeot 408 will be produced in 6 different body colors: obsession blue, titanium gray, techno gray, elixir red, mother-of-pearl white and pearl black. The Focal Premium Hi-Fi sound system, complete with the ARKAMYS digital sound processor, includes 10 high-tech speakers. The speakers are powered by the new 12-channel 690 WD Class amplifier. The Peugeot and Focal teams worked together to pinpoint the position of each speaker to deliver an exciting audio experience for all passengers. The system offers a good audio experience with an enhanced soundstage, detailed sounds and deep and expressive bass. The new digital display, located at eye level just above the steering wheel, has a 10-inch digital display. With the GT trim level, 3-Dimensional technology comes into play. The digital display is fully customizable. All dynamic controls are grouped into an arc on the driver’s side. With a single touch, the driver can choose between the driving modes of the 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission. – Efficiency specialist engines combined with aerodynamics The new PEUGEOT 408 offers two rechargeable hybrid engines, PLUG-IN HYBRID 225 e-EAT8 and PLUG-IN HYBRID 180 e-EAT8. 180 e-EAT8; PureTech gasoline engine with 150 HP and electric motor with 81 kW, while 225 e-EAT8 has 180 HP PureTech gasoline engine and 81 kW electric motor. Both plug-in hybrid engines transfer their power to the front wheels via an EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission. Both rechargeable hybrid versions have a charging capacity of 12.4 kWh and a power of 102 kW with a lithium-ion battery. Charging is done with a 3.7 kW single-phase charger as standard and an optional 7.4 kW single-phase charger. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour 55 minutes with a 7.4 kW Wall Box or a single-phase integrated charger, while a full charge takes approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes with a 3.7 kW charger. With a standard socket, a full charge takes approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes. There is also a 3-cylinder 130 HP 1.2-liter PureTech internal combustion engine option. With its 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission and start&stop feature, this engine meets the Euro 6.4 emission norm. A fully electric version will also be offered in the future. The model with global targets will be produced first in Mulhouse, France for the European market, and shortly afterwards at the Chengdu factory in China for the Chinese market.
