Eray SEN / ADANA Göktekin Energy, which has installed 250 MW SPP in Turkey so far, entered the Fortune 500 list, which includes Turkey’s largest 500 companies, at the 444th place. The company, which provides engineering, procurement and project design services in the field of renewable energy sources, especially solar and wind energy, and works in the field of RES and biomass power plants, is also in the top 100 in the list of Turkey’s fastest growing companies. Göktekin Energy also has foreign investments. Abdullah Göktekin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Göktekin Energy, who evaluated the steps taken by the company in the last five years since its establishment, said, “The effect of starting in the right sector at the right time on the basis of our growth is huge. Our work coincided with a period when the whole world was turning to renewable energy and trying to control its carbon footprint. In addition, entering this business with a strong equity capital paved the way for our healthy growth.” Pointing out the importance of closely following the developments in the domestic solar energy sector and structuring in accordance with the frequently changing legislation, Göktekin said, “The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and EMRA encourage a different field and offer us opportunities with their regulations. “We are the distributor of worldwide brands”
Noting that they added wind power plants (RES) to their work that they started with solar power plants (GES) in 2020, Göktekin said, “We have distributorships in Turkey for pv panels and inverters, which are the main equipment of solar energy. We are the distributor of HT and Hanwha in the panel and SolarEdge and Huawei in the inverters. We have improved our commercial sales turnover with the influence of distributorships of world-renowned quality and large-scale products.” Abdullah Göktekin noted that they took new steps in the field of wind, solar and biomass in 2021, and the results of these will be reflected in the 2022 turnover.
Employs 650 people
Göktekin Energy is working on SPP projects in Italy, Greece, Romania and Canada in its overseas activities, which it has accelerated in recent years. Göktekin employs nearly 100 engineers in his staff and employs approximately 650 people directly and indirectly.
