CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) convened under the chairmanship of Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Faik Öztrak, who made a statement while the meeting was continuing, stated that there were two victories in August, the first was the 26 August 1071 Manzikert Victory, and the second was the Great Offensive, which started on 26 August 1922 and ended with the 30 August Victory. Öztrak said, “It is ours on August 26, 1071, and it is ours on August 30, 1922. Both Sultan Alparslan and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk are ours. But today, unfortunately, a distorted mentality is at work that divides and shatters even our national holidays.” said. Expressing that tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of the Great Victory and it will be celebrated with great enthusiasm, Öztrak said, “If our glorious flag with crescent and star is still fluttering in the sky today, if the call to prayer is being heard loudly in our mosques, we thank the Great Offensive and the Great Victory, the uniqueness of this victory. We owe it to the Commander-in-Chief and all the heroes of our War of Independence.” he said. Öztrak commemorated Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Sultan Alparslan, and all martyrs and veterans who made these lands their homeland and kept them as a homeland, with respect, gratitude and mercy. Öztrak, who claimed that there was a scandal in Borsa Istanbul and that the allegations were “sickening”, said: “The business woman who was asked for a bribe in this latest scandal said that an AK Party deputy asked for a bribe to see her job in the Capital Markets Board, and this bribery request was submitted to CIMER. The day after these allegations, the Capital Markets Board filed a criminal complaint against this businesswoman, who said, “I was asked for a bribe,” and complained about the bribery to CIMER. “Will the AK Party deputy file the same criminal complaint against the former CMB Chairman? Will the prosecutors take action in the face of this disgrace? Salt stinks in the country. Public prosecutors don’t move. Or rather, they can’t.” Expressing that the CHP deputies filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutors’ offices to investigate these allegations, Öztrak said that they would not let this matter go.
“Foreign trade deficit increased to 62 billion dollars in the first 7 months”
Criticizing the government’s economic policy, Öztrak stated that the hunger limit in Turkey is 6,890 lira and the minimum wage is 5,500 lira. Öztrak said, “Citizens of countries experiencing 9 percent inflation come to Turkey and have a comfortable holiday. Travels, eats, drinks. Arab tourists who come to our country throw Turkish liras on the ground, dance, dance, make fun of our national currency on social media.” Defending that it was 61 billion liras, Öztrak claimed that the support paid to the farmers in the same period was 24 billion liras, while the support given to the tradesmen did not exceed 6 billion liras. Our foreign trade deficit increased to 62 billion dollars. However, the external deficit targeted for the whole of 2022 was 51 billion dollars. In the first 7 months, the target was exceeded by 11 billion dollars. The ratio of imports to exports fell to 70 percent,” he said.
“They are trying to make people forget the heavy economic crisis”
Expressing that singer Gülşen Bayraktar Çolakoğlu made a joke that went beyond her intent, and it was not possible to accept the content of the joke, Öztrak stated that she realized that the singer’s joke was beyond her intent and apologized to the public. Claiming that the government tried to lynch the singer with the help of the judiciary, Öztrak said, “Their aims are clear. By dividing the nation, polarizing the society, sowing seeds of hatred and grudge among our youth, they are trying to make the nation forget the high cost, poverty and severe economic depression they have caused.” said.
Öztrak also criticized the decision to release the singer Gülşen on the condition that she “not leave the residence”.
“Our nation is getting poorer every day that is delayed”
CHP Spokesperson Öztrak answered questions from members of the press after his statement. Asked about his assessment of the early election debates, Öztrak said, “Every day delayed, our nation becomes poorer. But someone’s pocket becomes more and more full. The burden on our nation is increasing day by day. The country is becoming increasingly unmanageable. It is essential to hold elections as soon as possible for our nation to get rid of this persecution. ” he said. “The wife of Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu, whose name was mentioned in the bribery charge, was detained on the charge of exposing her private life. What is your comment on this situation?” Öztrak answered the question, “We urgently expect the Turkish judiciary to show the care and sensitivity of the AK Party deputy’s private life in order to detain the bribes and stock market manipulators who usurp the orphan’s right and law.” gave the answer. “Turkish jets in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean were radar-locked by the Greek S-300 air defense system. What is your assessment?” Upon the question, Öztrak said: “The Minister of National Defense declared, ‘It is unacceptable for Greece to activate the S-300s and put the S-300 lock on our planes’. These Russian-made S-300 missiles in Greece, our F16′ Locked our planes, that is, the planes of NATO member Turkey. This problem is extremely serious. Everyone should now ask the following question. While the S-400s bought from Russia for billions of dollars are dusting in the warehouses, how is Greece doing with our planes with the S-300s? We expect the government to immediately respond to these questions and explain what to do as soon as possible.”
