The widespread use of domestic production in Turkey, which has a high potential in solar energy, will make it possible for homes and workplaces to produce their own electricity. With the widespread use of domestic production in Turkey, which is one of the countries with the highest potential in solar energy, one of the main renewable energy sources, the days are not far away when houses and workplaces will set up their own mechanisms at low cost and zero their electricity costs. The Girişim Elektrik group, which has become a global actor as a rival or partner of the world’s giants in energy, is accelerating its solar power plant investments and now starting domestic solar panel production. In the field of solar energy, it becomes the only company in the world that produces all of the main products within a single group. Behiç Harmanlı, Chairman of the Board of Girişim Elektrik and Europower, stated that with the investment they will make, they will be able to produce the inverter, which is the only item that is not produced, both suitable for large investments and for residences and small workplaces. Sun Junior will be the only product with zero energy costs Behiç Harmanlı stated that they will produce hybrid and on-grid inverter systems under the name “Sun Junior” and said that these products will soon become the only products that every house and every workplace should use and that can reset their energy costs. Harmanlı pointed out that Sun Junior, which can be used in the first half of 2023, has become a commercial product at the international level and has met with a very serious demand, and announced that in 2023, Sun Junior, which has 3-50 kilowatt variants, will establish agreements or a dealership system. Harmanlı said, “According to the new regulations, 5 percent of the renewable energy requirement and tax exemption up to 50 kilowatts in each new building investment will accelerate these events. It will be in very high demand. It will be a product needed all over the world; like a refrigerator, a washing machine,” he said. Panel factory to be established in Ankara A solar panel factory will be established in Ankara with the partnership of Girişim Elektrik and its subsidiary Europower Enerji. The factory, which will be commissioned with an annual production capacity of 750 MW at the beginning, will be installed in a way that will allow the capacity to be increased to 1,000 MW if desired. Mass production at the factory is planned to start by the first quarter of 2023 at the latest. The company took this investment decision due to the rapid rise in energy costs and the increasing demand in Turkey and the world. Stating that the demand is high in countries where electricity is very expensive, especially in Europe, and in places such as Iraq, Libya and Syria, where it is less produced, Harmanlı said: Work continues on large storage systems. Big inverters will be presented as domestic products certified in the second quarter”. Turkey, which has an important solar energy potential due to its geographical location, has an average annual total sunshine duration of 2 thousand 741 hours and an average annual total radiation value of 1,527.46 kWh/m2, according to the Solar Energy Potential Atlas (GEPA). Evaluation of such a large renewable energy source will avoid the damage caused by fossil resources to the environment, and will both reduce the cost of consumers using these mechanisms and reduce the growing current account deficit due to the large bills paid for imports.
